What was the number of fighter jets lost by India during this conflict?

When I talked to many other young officers on our campus everyone was given mixed answers but one thing was common we lost 1 Rafael in Punjab. How many more? None knows exactly some even told me 4–5 jets were lost but we did huge damage to Pakistan planes.

What do I understand?

Even the serving officer in peace posting doesn't know exactly what has happened with our fighter jets. Then how do you think any common person will tell you the exact number?

My opinion

We definitely lost a few platforms because when this question was asked to Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations (DGAO) then he said “We are in a combat scenario and losses are a part of it” he further added “As for details, at this time I would not like to comment on that as we are still in combat and give advantage to the adversary”

Isn’t it soft acceptance? Now, the only pending thing is how many? With time we all get to know so why to play guessing number?

The best thing as per Air Marshal “We didn’t lose any brave pilot life”

We can buy more jets but not lifes!!
