Yes; and it’s looking more likely with every passing day.
Now that the IAF has achieved air supremacy over Iran and Tehran, specifically, it seems like Operation Rising Lion intended to appeal to Trump all along.
To see what I mean, the events of the past year need to be summarized:
- Israel’s Operation Days of Repentance, where the IAF struck approximately 20 locations in Iran, crippling its air defense network and destroying all of Iran’s S-300 systems.

- The United States moving six B-2 bombers to the island of Diego Garcia in early April of 2025. This deployment was stated to be a show of force to Iran.
- Consistent talks over a US-Iran nuclear deal. Trumps gave Tehran a 60 day window to negotiate a deal, and it is no coincidence that Israel struck Iran on the 61st day. This let Trump posture himself as a president who resorted to diplomacy and gave Iran a chance for a peaceful conclusion to its nuclear question. At the same time, Trump was able to distance himself from the Israeli attack and assess the outcome of its initial stages before deciding to get involved or not
- Operation Rising Lion. It is no secret that Israel’s 5 day air campaign has so-far been a resounding success, as IAF fighter jets and drones strike Iranian targets with impunity. Khomeini’s chain of command has been temporarily decapitated— Iran’s air defense systems, missile production facilities, and ballistic missile launchers relentlessly targeted day after day. It’s a wonder that the Persian missile crews are still operating. Now that the sky over Iran is clear, the state’s nuclear facilities can be targeted.
- The Fordo nuclear facility. Much has been stated about how tough it would be to attack the nuclear enrichment plant near Qom, which has (allegedly) been dug half-a-mile below a mountain.

- Remember the American B-2s that were moved to the region in a “show of force?” Well, the B-2 is the only platform that can equip the Massive Ordinance Penetrator Bomb (GBU-57 A/B). It is believed that this 30,000lbs bomb can penetrate up to 200 feet of stone, making it the perfect platform to use against Frodo.

Now this is just my thesis, but I believe that the perfect stage has been set for an American intervention in the Israel-Iran war. With the destruction of Fordo, Trump can claim victory and possibly revert the notion of America’s decline internationally.
